For years Samsung has been working on a foldable smartphone. But we are hearing about it now. The mechanism of this folding phone might work in a different way than anticipated.
Earlier news was discovered and reported in Business Korea and SamMobile that Samsung is working on a new foldable smartphone with an inward folding mechanism. It is believed that the other concepts of Samsung are centered on an outward-folding smartphone.
It has been years that Samsung is working on smartphone that you can fold or we can say, Samsung is trying to meld the old days of flip phones with today’s technology. However, there are many reports stating that smartphone would come with an outward-folding feature which will help you in interaction with the screen in a variety of ways even when folded. An inward-folding mechanism might change that.
According to SamMobile, it was first planned for having an inward-folding feature in the smartphone. However, it is believed that the company has scrapped that plan for an outward-folding design. The report doesn’t say specify any reason why Samsung might has gone back to its original concept.
There are rumors that the company is working on the folding smartphone for years and there are also reports which support the fact that this phone will be launching soon.
In fact, in 2016 there were reports that the smartphone is going to launch then but then it got delayed to 2017. But then in 2017, Samsung’s DJ Koh said that he is planning to release the foldable smartphone next year instead.
However, a recent Korean database listed the foldable phone which also suggested that smartphone could be coming to Korea store sooner than expected. It is believed that this foldable phone will be known as Galaxy X. While the other reports have said the listing just paves the way for Samsung to provide units for testing and doesn’t mean a launch is imminent.
