India has 28 states and all these have their own local beverages and drinks. These drinks are not only tasty but healthy too. Indian beverages are very popular Indian cuisine. 1. Masala Chai

Nobody denies tea in the morning. When Indian people get up they ask for the tea to get refresh. It is the most famous and flavouring beverage in India. Masala Chai is black tea along the mixture of aromatic Indian spices and herbs. You can find the chaiwala on many streets of India having small shops or stalls.

2. Aam Panna

Aam Panna is the first preference of people during the summer. It is sour in taste. Main ingredients are unripe mangoes, salt, coriander leaves, mint, chillies, and jeera powder. It is helpful in protecting the person from Sun stroke. The main benefit of this drink is that it helps in maintaining the body temperature in summer.

3. Chaach

Chaach, a slightly sour milk is commonly called as Buttermilk. It has other names too such as Majige, Tak and Mooru. Chaach is best to have in warm climate. Punjabi buttermilk and lassi are really very famous for its unique flavour.

4. Lassi

Lassi is a traditional Yogurt drink which is very famous and popular. It originates in Punjab. During summers, it acts as a cooling and refreshing drink. There are many varieties of lassi such as Mango Lassi, Sweet Lassi and Bhang Lassi.

5. Shikanje

Shikanje has common name which is Neebu pani. It is a very cheap drink made from sugar, water and lemon. Moreover, in English, we call it lemonade. It is a good source for getting energy and vitamin C.

6. Thandai

Thandai is also a Bhang which is a healthy drink. It is made from milk and dry fruits which adds to its taste. During Maha Shivratri, it is most preferred drink with the inclusion of Bhang. Furthermore, it is the favourite drink of Lord Maha Shiva.

7. Kosna

Kosna is also called as Chuak, Chhang and Sonti which is a traditional rice beer. It is very famous in some of the places of India such as Assam, Chattisgarh and Jharkhand. As a part of festivals feature, tribal admires this rice beer.

8. Kokum Sherbet

It is a sweet drink which is very popular in the state Maharashtra. Moreover, the ingredients which are useful in making this are Garcinia indica and Kokum squash. During summer, it is helpful in cooling the temperature of body and improves digestion.

9. Sol kad

Among a very famous drink in the coastal India. It is a refreshing Konkani drink with a light coconut base. In fact, this nice pink colored creamy sol kadi has its unique flavour. Mostly available in Konkan region especially Maharashtra and Goa.

10. Toddy

Toddy is Palm wine which is an alcoholic beverage. It uses Palm species of all kind such as Palmyra and cocunut palm. Mostly drink in Kerala, Madhya Pradesh and Kallu in Andra Pradesh.

11. Mahua

It is an alcoholic local drink in Chattisgarh and also in tribal states of India which is made from Mahua flowers. Moreover, Mahua trees are also useful in making medicines.

12. Fenny

It is classified as a company liquor which is also a local drink of Goa. The ingredients are either cashew apple and cocunut. In fact, it is very cheap in shops, bars and restaurants in Goa.

13. Jal-jeera

It is among the most popular drink in India during summers. Furthermore, it consists of cumin, ginger, black salt and powder.
